
While strengthening learning outcomes has been a priority in many low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), it is even more critical now given the learning losses experienced by students due to the COVID-19 pandemic-related school closures.
The Learning at Scale Study has been designed to investigate factors contributing to successful improvements in foundational learning outcomes in eight of the most effective large-scale early grade literacy programs and six of the most effective early grade numeracy programs, including two that are government-led.
The study explores three overarching research questions focused on understanding the components of instructional practices, instructional supports, and system supports that lead to effective instruction and improved learning outcomes.
