Learning outcomes are low and instructional improvements are needed in many classrooms in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). These shortcomings are particularly concerning given the substantial learning loss due to COVID-19, from which many education systems are suffering.


The Learning at Scale Study, implemented by RTI International with funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and in collaboration with the Center for Global Development, investigates factors contributing to successful improvements in foundational learning outcomes in eight of the most effective large-scale early grade education programs in LMICs.
